Why doesn the TDA fund teachers directly for PPD?
The Government has devolved most funds for teachers’ CPD to schools’ budgets. The remaining central stream of PPD funding was considered to be most effectively spent in subsidising PPD providers. Tying the funds to PPD criteria, requires that PPD providers demonstrate that PPD courses are relevant to teachers, responsive to local and national need and are of a high quality.
