Why doesn the SYC or the Ferry District build it?
The project and all its functions go well beyond the missions and capacities of both the SYC and the Ferry District. Both organizations have important roles in the development and success of this project. A world class harbor needs a yacht club that will be the City’s de facto host to the yachting world ‘ the SYC, and their commitment to remain in the harbor, is critical to the project achieving its maritime mission; the Ferry District is a necessary partner, and it’s fortuitous that the District is currently exploring concept and design development for a new Sausalito Ferry dock to enhance both its regular and emergency capacities. Working together now means we can all achieve a better project result than we could individually, both in design, functionality and funding.
