Why doesn the switch work with either Port A (HP printer) or Port B (Ditto Drive)?

You need to select the port manually or use the software to switch. The Ditto Drive needs to be locked on the computer when you boot up. Also check to see if your printer cables are IEEE compatible for both the Ditto drive and the printer.
