Why doesn the RockBox have a rechargeable battery?
• A few reasons: • With a permanently installed rechargeable battery, if it runs out of power you have to plug it in for rechage and can’t use it for hours until its charged again. This isn’t very easy to do while racing on a boat. With the RockBox, you simply install a new set of batteries and go. • If a permanetly installed rechargeable battery dies you must either purchase an entire new unit or send it back to the manufacturer for service. With the RockBox, you simply install a new set of batteries and go. • If you do want rechargeable batteries in your RockBox, it is fully compatible with any rechargeable AA sized battery. You can use rechargealbe batteries, and still have the option of using standard alkaline batteries if they run out at an inoportune moment, like right before a race.
