Why doesn the PRMS Basin Summary Report balance?
1. The PRMS Basin Summary Report was originally written as an aid for calibration and did not necessarily include all of the components of the water cycle required to compute an exact balance. This means that although the report did not show a balance, when all of the necessary individual variables were output to statvar files and summed, PRMS would balance. Over the past several years, we have worked very hard on improving this report. Modern versions of this report do balance. Older versions of PRMS may produce reports which do not balance. If this is important to you, update your model. 2. If the PRMS Basin Summary Report does not balance and you have updated your model within the last year, it is certainly possible that you have found a bug.
