Why doesn the number 3 (2 for RJ-11) light come on when using the Wiremaster XR?

The Wiremaster XR has been designed to purposely not light the number 3 LED (2 for RJ-11) if the cable being tested is not exactly straight thru (meaning the connection on one end of the cable exactly matches the connection on the other end) or exactly reverse (meaning the connection on one end of the cable is exactly opposite the connection on the other end). This was implemented so that two technicians working apart on either end of the cable could tell if the cable was correctly wired or not. The intention is that the technicians know what type of cable is being tested and that all jumpers are in their correct places. If the cable being tested is a straight thru cable and there is a jumper installed on J105, then the operator will get the same result. If the cable being tested is a reverse cable and there is no jumper installed on J105, then the number 3 (2 for RJ-11) will not light. All other configurations will cause the number 3 (2 for RJ-11) on the Wiremaster XR to not light. If
