Why doesn the government spend more money on public colleges?

0

Why should the government have to subsidize anyone’s education? Money from the government isn’t magic free money, it is the result of exorbitant taxes levied on American citizens. Students who are intelligent and able to plan for the future are perfectly able to either take out loans or work their way through college, if they cannot obtain private scholarships. The cost of a degree completed in four years at an inexpensive public university can be payed back over the first few years working if the student makes a prudent choice in selecting a major and then an occupation. No one is owed an education because they are intelligent, and the government should have very limited involvement.
