The Start footswitch actually starts the drumbeat when you release it. This is the only way the AdrenaLinn can know the difference between tapping and holding the switch (for decrementing the preset). To get around this, press the foot switch one 1/8 note before you intend to start, then release it on the downbeat. Be careful not to hold it too long, because holding it ½ second causes the preset to decrement.
