Why doesn’t the District go to a four-day work week to save resources?

Schools are open five days per week and support staff must be available to support the operations of the District. The District Office has adopted four-day work weeks during the summer months. If the District Office closed for the month of July, this would be the equivalent of 22 furlough days for the classified and certificated employees who work there and would need to be negotiated.
