Why doesnt the audio I hear match the video Im watching?
Many modern stereo television sets have a feature that allows for the reception of an alternate audio track for a given station. This feature is called Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS). A television set with MTS can receive mono sound, stereo sound, or SAP. The SAP (Secondary Audio Program) feature allows a television station to broadcast other information to the viewer through the audio system. That other information could be (1) the same program audio in another language, (2) Described Video (DV) which is a version of the program audio which has been enhanced for the vision impaired, or (3) something completely different, such as a weather information service. CBC’s English Television Network uses the SAP for Described Video and has a growing number of programs so enhanced. The regular program audio will be present on SAP when DV is not available. CBC Newsworld, does not currently provide Described Video, but rather makes its SAP available to the National Broadcast Reading Servic
