ANSWER 4: Sun modified the sendmail code many years ago, and provides functionality that is not in the sendmail v8 code. We also fixed some bugs and need a stable code base to work from. In the future, we will be migrating towards a more standardized mail environment. Right now we are stuck with our “Sun-isms”. Please note that Sun will not help you debug problems with non-Sun sendmail, nor with configuration problems with non-Sun supplied sendmail.cf files.
