Why doesn Sun Management Center run my own script as an alarm action?

0

Sun Management Center will ONLY run files owned by root in this directory: /var/opt/SUNWsymon/bin This is a security feature. Even if somebody gains access to a Sun Management Center console with permissions to change alarm actions, they won’t be able to execute arbitrary commands. They would still need root access to place the executables in the directory.
