Why doesn′t SoundRuler save my spectrograms as Windows metafiles?
Metafiles are vectorial, meaning that the image is defined as a series of geometric objects on a coordinates map. Spectrograms are generated as bitmaps, where the pixel darkness is specified point by point. The metafiles format in matlab′s libraries will not include bitmap images. The other types of plots that SoundRuler generates are vectorial. The vectorial plots are converted easily to bitmap, so you can save them both as metafiles or as bitmaps (bmp, tiff, png and jpg). Some traditionally vectorial formats like eps and ai now accept having a bitmap inserted as an extra object among the others. Try using one of these formats when you want to save spectrograms and other plots together.
