Why doesn’t Solebury undertake a program like some other Township’s program?

0

The Solebury Township Wildlife Management Program will produce measurable results more quickly for approximately the same or lower cost as any other alternative program. For example, there are a number of important differences between the Solebury Township program and other programs in the region. Solebury received deer tags directly from the Pennsylvania Game Commission. The program permits sharpshooter hunting throughout the year. Other programs rely on their contractor obtaining deer tags over the counter from the Game Commission; these programs will only occur those times of the year when hunting is permitted. What sets Solebury apart from other management efforts in the region is the emphasis on cooperation, education and community outreach. All involved – the Game Commission, USDA, and the Board of Supervisors – are committed to a sustainable wildlife population. This will require public awareness, education and cooperation between homeowners and hunters, and continued monitoring
