Why doesn ResCom backup MP3s and movies on student machines?
ResCom has taken the stand that we will not illegally copy any copy written materials such as music and movies. Odds are the music and movie clips ARE copy written so ResCom will not backup music or movies files. All backup of data is the responsibility of the student. In some cases we will backup student data during a reformat but will always exclude music and movies. We prefer the student to backup their own data because we are not responsible for loosing any student data.
