Why doesn Remark Office OMR recognize my Code 39 barcode correctly?
A. The Code 39 barcode specification mandates that a beginning asterisk (*) and ending character asterisk (*) are used as the first and last characters of barcode text. For example, if you wanted to format 1234 as a Code 39 barcode, you would type *1234* and then format it as Code 39. When Remark Office OMR recognizes this barcode, only the data is returned (i.e., 1234). B. Space characters are not recognized in Code 39 barcode text. To use a space character, type an exclamation point (!). For example, if you wanted to format John Smith as a Code 39 barcode, you would type *John!Smith* and then format it as Code 39.
