Why doesnt Pangaea bring its participants to European nations, Canada or other industrialized countries?
Pangaea is committed to taking groups of teens that have never left the United States in their lives to non-Western/industrialized countries so that they can experience cultures that are vastly different than their own. An international experience with The Pangaea Project provides a safe venue for personal growth, an avenue for students to recognize and accentuate their innate skills and talents, and a way for participants to build a global outlook. By taking groups to uncommon destinations, the level of cultural exchange and the educational benefits for the Americans and for the people of the other culture are greatest. Both groups can acknowledge and begin to dismantle their stereotypes and assumptions, thus creating greater intercultural understanding. Being immersed in a culture that is unlike anything they have ever experienced will open up possibilities for an expanded sense of humanity with people from across the world.
