Nero plans to introduce the ability to play back commercial Blu-ray Discs within Nero Multimedia Suite 10 in H2 2010 as an optional plug-in, since only a small percentage of Nero 10 users will elect to pay for the high cost of the patent license for Blu-ray Disc playback. Including it in the base product would have added significantly to the affordable price point of the Nero Multimedia Suite 10. However, it is possible to play back user-generated Blu-ray Discs that do not contain commercial content (e.g., an AVCHD content shot on someone’s personal video camera) from within Nero Multimedia Suite 10. In addition, the previously optional Blu-ray authoring plug-in is now directly integrated within the Nero Multimedia Suite 10 at no additional cost.
