Why doesn Map Illinois run as well under Netscape?
If you are running a Microsoft Windows operating system, much of the software needed to support Internet Explorer is running as part of the operating system. When IE starts up there is very little extra demand on your system’s memory. When Netscape starts up, all of its supporting software must be loaded into memory – leaving less memory to accomplish tasks. In addition, certain user actions – like resizing your viewer window – dramatically increases Netscape memory requirements while Internet Explorer does not.
