Why doesnt Liberia take advantage of their rich farm land and resources instead of relying on foreign aid?
You’re operating on the assumption that Liberia has the resources and infastructure to take advantage of their natural resources. They don’t. They don’t have reliable electricity, clean water, or access to very basic healthcare. There are also still a lot of very young kids running around with very big guns. Liberia: An Uncivil War is an excellent documentary, as recommended by the first poster. Fortunately, with a pretty stable government and a strong president, Liberia is making strides. But they’ve got to put a stop to the bleeding before they can really start to heal.
