Why doesn KeePass 2.x run on my computer?
Symptoms: When trying to run KeePass 2.x on Windows ≤ XP, an error message like the following is displayed: “A required .DLL file, MSCOREE.DLL, was not found” or “The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)”. Cause: KeePass 2.x requires Microsoft .NET Framework ≥ 2.0. Resolution: Install Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or higher. It is available as a free download from the Microsoft website: Microsoft .NET Framework download. Alternatively, you can install it through Windows Update (the framework is an optional component). KeePass 1.x does not require this framework.
