Why doesn it recognize my favourite newsgroup?
To avoid errors the program will only recognize newsgroups in the “big 7” hierarchies. Otherwise filenames like “command.com” might become unwanted references to fictional newsgroups. This means that uk.telecom won’t be recognized, although if you place “news:” in from of it like this news:uk.telecom then it is recognized. If you want to make “uk.” recognized as a valid news hierarchy, then set the policy recognized USENET groups : uk Then any work beginning “uk.” may become a newsgroup link.
