Why doesn GKR have stripes or a red and white belt to denote dan grades?
Because once you reach a certain level, you’re supposed to be humble to compensate for the enormous skills you now possess. If you still need to prove yourself with stripes or extra colours, then the correct attitude has not been attained. Personally, I always think stripes on a black belt are a sign of insecurity, although you could argue that it simply enables the higher gardes to take the correct positions when lining up.
