Why doesnt First Christmas offer wrapping paper rolls?
Almost all rolls of wrapping paper sold in the United States are produced in China at 40%-60% of the cost of printing them in the United States. Interestingly, only a small fraction of that paper is gift wrap. (Most wrapping paper is printed with company logos and is used to protect products, like computer parts, while they are being shipped from the place of manufacture to various wholesale or retail outlets.) Locating a reasonably priced option for printing Christmas wrapping paper rolls in the United States took First Christmas most of 2009, our start-up year. We now have a favorable arrangement for next year. However, we cannot offer rolled wrapping paper until we sell enough of our current product to justify a large printing order of rolls.
