Why doesn DuPont or Quadrant/Northwest Landing pay for the completion of Chloe Clark Elementary?

We are “one school district”. We all pay for all the schools in our district. It’s a fair process. Since we (DuPont and Steilacoom) agreed to become one school district in 1974, the citizens of DuPont have been paying taxes to build: (a) the original Steilacoom High School (and later expand it a bit), (b) to remodel Cherrydale Primary School, (c) to build a new Saltar’s Point Elementary School, (d) to enhance Anderson Island School, and (e) to complete significant enhancements at Pioneer Middle School. The first 1/3 of Chloe Clark was built with a significant portion of DuPont monies from the sale of the DuPont Laughbon school site. No new taxes were levied on any of our School District citizens. Now, when the School District proposes to build a school in DuPont, because that’s where the available land is, we all pay for School District schools, just as the DuPont citizens have been doing for the past 30 years with the schools being built in Steilacoom.
