Why doesn Dell offer an internal wireless card for a desktop computer?”
They’re available from Amazon. Including ones made by Linksys, which will be most likely to work with your router. (They’re all supposed to work with any router, but having the same brand helps sometimes.) They’re not hard to install: turn the computer off, open the computer, find an empty slot, slip it in, and turn the computer on. It will probably come with a CD with the driver, but it may be able to get the driver directly from the card itself. (I’ve found that Linksys instructions are usually pretty clear.) I’ve found that Dell computers are usually pretty easy to open. You should make sure it has PCI slots, but most of them do. (A few ultra-small desktop computers don’t have expansion slots, but full-size computers will always have one.) I don’t know why Dell doesn’t offer this for you, but it’s not hard to correct the problem yourself. (You might even call Dell up.
