Why doesn Boggs allow ATVs?
Boggs is not a “Green Sticker” area. All motor vehicles operated on the forest must be legally licensed and street legal for operation on the State Forest roads and roads that access the State Forest. The laws regarding ATVs are confusing. ATVs are not to be ridden on public roads. According to California Vehicle Code (CVC) 590 a Street is a way or place of whatever nature, publicly maintained and open to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular travel. Street includes highway.
