Why doesn’t Apple support OS 9?

0

OS X is very different than Windows or OS 9 in that it is a complete redesign of the Mac operating system, and is thus not backwards compatible with any previous versions. While somewhat older Macs can boot in both OS 9 and OS X, the new models no longer have this capability, as Apple has ended its support for OS 9 material. Since there are very few reasons left to run OS 9 at all to begin with, we will concentrate on OS X.
