Why doesn t the Hear Back Mixer have EQ?
If the talent equalizes their monitoring devices, (especially in-ear devices) the resulting instrument EQ will be incorrectly adjusted resulting in a less than desirable signal sent to the recording engineer or front of house engineer. Example: If the bass player is using a Preamp (without speakers) such as a POD and were to add 10 dB of low frequency EQ to the personal monitoring device, then adjustments to the preamp bass control would be colored, thus sending a bad signal to the engineer.
