Why does Yugoslav cuisine taste so bad?
Yugoslavian food as a concept did not exist even in the days of Yugoslavia. The country as it was before the break up and the federal units of present day have always had their respective culinary recipes for national dishes. Cuisine as a phenomenon and a very important part of every nation, is entirely dependent on a person’s ability to accept the change. Your behaviour is not so rare: we’ve witnessed herds of tourists who come from their home countries and expect to find their food wherever they go. I think that you’re just not a person open to new tastes and challenges, as I know from personal experience that sampling foreign food is all in the mind. And I’ve travelled widely and extensively enough to be able to say that our food is one of the best there is. I’ve never ever had a foreign friend who didn’t want to break the customs’ allowances by taking some of our food with them. But I won’t even begin to address the issue of defending our national cuisine. It speaks for itself. I h
