Uncheck the “Always dial my connection” setting for your dial-up connection. If you’re concerned about privacy in this regard, please review the Privacy Policy available under WMP’s Help menu. If that doesn’t assuage your fears, WMP9 and newer further includes full privacy options so you can turn off anything that you feel may invade your privacy.
