Why does water sometimes leak from the regeneration port plug on my ShowerStick?

The regeneration port plug is only meant to be hand tight so that no tools are needed when it is time to regenerate your ShowerStick and so you can unscrew it by hand. Teflon tape may be added to these threads if desired to reduce the leakage and as the threads wear in with use the leakage will be reduced. The water that leaks has not yet been softened and will just go down the shower drain. We felt a small leak was worth the trade off for the ease and time saved during the regeneration process and rember it only leaks into the shower an goes down the drain.
