Why does wash water need to be treated?

0

Wash water runoff consists of three major components: the water, the cleaning chemical and the soil removed in the cleaning process. These three waste stream components are usually so intermingled that separation is difficult. Some types of soils dissolve in water and others are trapped in emulsion or suspension in the water. In most cases the soil and the detergent represent the biggest potential pollution problem.
