Why does Warwick Accommodation guarantee single overseas postgraduates a room on-campus, but not couples and families?

Due to limited resources, staff and family housing cannot guarantee accommodation to overseas postgraduates. The number of rooms on-campus for single applicants is around 5,000 while staff and family housing can only offer around 100 – 200 rooms (dependant on how many vacancies we acquire) therefore we are unable to extend any guarantees.
