As a private, not-for-profit organization, WakeMed receives no federal or state subsidies or county tax support. To meet increasing demand for our services, we must significantly invest in new and expanded facilities, new services and emerging technology, all the while remaining true to our mission of providing outstanding and compassionate care to all who seek our services. Just like many nonprofit organizations, WakeMed simply cannot afford to do everything it wants to do all at once. Philanthropic support plays a crucial role in helping WakeMed meet these additional needs.
