Why does UMKC require the MAPP Test?
Since 1988, the Board of Curators of the University of Missouri System has required that all four UM campuses evaluate their academic programs and student services. The MAPP is a national test that was chosen by UMKC and approved by the Board of Curators as a tool that measures general knowledge and provides information to UMKC to assess the effectiveness of its programs. The North Central Association (NCA), the national accrediting agency for UMKC, as well as the Missouri Coordinating Board for Higher Education (CBHE), require the University to provide learning outcome information about our students.
