Why does TSD WESTPAC require students to meet prerequisites for courses?

0

The purpose of the prerequisites for the courses is to ensure each student has the proper skills, knowledge, and/or experience necessary to successfully complete the courses. Years of experience have shown that students without prerequisite knowledge, skill or experience have less than 50 % chance of completing the course versus 95% success rate for those who meet those same prerequisites. Under normal circumstances, students not meeting course prerequisites will not be enrolled in class. Ship’s Training Officer’s are responsible to ensure ALL students sent to a particular class fully meets the course prerequisites.
