Why does tree oil not always inhibit bacterial growth?
The differences can probably be attributed to one or more of the following reasons: – a different strain of bacteria was used by different groups (some strains are resistant to tea tree oil while others are susceptible) – some groups used more bacteria than others, which overwhelmed the tea tree oil and made it less effective – some groups used more tea tree oil than others, which at a higher concentration was better able to inhibit the bacterial growth
