Why does to Main Exchange not carry some of the items that they carried a few years ago?
When buying for the Exchange was centralized into Quantico a few years ago, we gained access to a system which tracks every sale that is made on every item that is sold at MCAS Cherry Point. In the last two years we have used that information to begin to tailor what merchandise is offered to our patrons based on what they are buying in the stores. This has resulted in the elimination of brands such as Liz Claiborne which did not generate enough sales and profit to warrant space in the store and the same is true of some other more expensive lines of clothing. The assortment of young men’s clothing (surf and skateboard clothing brands) has grown as has to offering in Juniors clothing. Basically, every time you purchase something in the Main Exchange, or anywhere on Station, you are voting for that product to be carried in the store, the more votes we get for categories of merchandise, the more of that type of goods that we will try to carry.
