Why does the wiccan religion combines sex with its rituals?
Not sure I understand you. If you mean are Wiccan rituals sex orgies, no they aren’t. First, Wiccans view of sex is not seen as dirty or wrong… healthy sexual expression it is seen as an affirmation of life itself. It is a joyous and sacred act. Some romatically involved couples in the privacy of their home may have sex during ritual… however, you’re not going to go to a coven or a Wiccan group and find people having sex on the altar out in the open. There are covens that hold rituals skyclad (naked). This is not a sexual act, but symbolic of freedom and being part of nature. Wiccans do often incorporate a part into ritual known as “The Great Rite.” This is the coming together of God and Goddess… as everything (all life and nature) is seen as coming from the joining of male and female… it represents the union of opposites.
