Why does the Welsh Assembly want to kill Shambo?
It is the law of the land and that is paramount, every one has the right in this country to chose their religion, that religion must be able to fall within the laws and rules of the country they reside in, if you can not practise your religion within those laws then you must practise them else were, I see what you are saying about viable alternatives but in Britain and many other countries there are millions of animals how could you control epidemics if you start giving special dispensations, isolation may work if it can be proved to be effective but who would stand the cost of the isolation, because this would and could only be monitored by the government under strict control with no human contact the cost would be astronomical if it was to be effective, millions of animals were slaughtered in the foot and mouth scare and many of them were healthy but they were destroyed because they lived close to infected animals, this had to be done to eradicate both the decease and the idea of the
1) There have been so called statements of “fact” about the accuracy of the bovine skin test used on Shambo. The Welsh assembly says that it’s 99.9% accurate. Yet the “international zoo vet”, David Taylor, featured in the video on the Skanda Vale Hindu website (see bottom of their home page) gave the reliability of this test a far poorer rating. David Taylor is a very reputable, internationally known veterinary surgeon (see his Wikipedia entry). He said in the video (among many other things) that Shambo appeared to be in excellent health and “it would be a crime to destroy this animal”. David Taylor and the Welsh assembly can’t both be right; someone is exaggerating if not lying. 2) How much of the force behind the edict to destroy Shambo is political & economic rather than being a simple attempt to minimize the spread of bovine TB? If Shambo was excepted from the rule as laid down by law there would probably be a very loud outcry from the farmers. The Welsh Assembly and, sad to say, t
