Why does the Vet-Temp sensor arm need to be closed before every temperature measurement cycle?
For greater accuracy, the Vet-Temp is designed to self-recalibrate before each temperature measurement. This is accomplished by reading the temperature of the internal reference target before the arm is opened. The Vet-Temp’s ® ability to recalibrate before each temperature measurement eliminates sensor drift and insures device accuracy over time.
