Why does the user id of the business workflow item (“From”) is tagged with a prefix “US” or is empty?

UWL is retrieving the user id of the creator (“From” field) from the business workflow. Whether the value has the prefix “US” or not, is dependent on the application which starts the workflow. Both UWL and business workflow have no control on this. This piece of information returned from business workflow is too technical and this is the best UWL can obtain and display for the user value for NW04. This field is not affected by the user display format configuration. Starting from NetWeaver 7.0 SPS10, only valid back end creator id that can be mapped to a portal user will be displayed in lastname, firstname style. All others including technical value starting with US will be suppressed and the “From” field will be shown empty. In NW 7.0 SPS 11 and CP patch 30 and above, the field will not be left empty for invalid unmapped id, but a localized text “Workflow System”. From NW 04 SP15 on (and NW 7.0 SP06 on), configuration option in ‘uwl.properties’ file to change the behavior of this user
