Why does the US have a high violent crime rate than other countries, especially including guns?
It is our heritage. We have never been a homogeneous society where everyone always knew their place. As expectations rise and more failure to get where you feel you should go gets worse crime goes up. No other nation allows weapons to be used or distributed as widely as ours. In your country even cops do not get to carry guns off duty. In 37 states virtually anyone with a few hours training is legal to carry a gun. Criminals get their guns by stealing the citizen’s guns. Even in Switzerland where every adult male is expected to have rifles in his home it is only after they have gone through compulsory military service, with the responsible use of weapons ground into them.
