Why does the UBC Cancer Association need money? Aren t there other ways of covering costs?
Quite obviously, we need money to run our events. Posters and equipment rentals and such can end up being a mite hard on the wallet. And although we actively seek sponsorship from the community and grants from the school, there are always some leftover costs. Fortunately, our finance department is run by stingy Asians, who impress upon us the value of careful spending and bargain shopping.
