Why does the team schedule a group of hypothalamic hamartoma patients to be treated during the same week?
• These patients have a very rare and frequently misdiagnosed disease. They come to Barrow from all over the United States. Some even travel from other countries. We believe that the emotional support of the patients and families is just as important as the surgical treatment. As medical professionals, we understand the symptoms and emotions associated with such a difficult disease. However, individuals and their families receive even more support from others who have had the same experience. Lisa Soeby currently serves as patient liaison within our team. Lisa is exploring corporate fund raising for patients with hypothalamic hamartomas and provides emotional support for patients and families. Please visit > Patient Liaison • document.
