The chemical compound of the Supersmile Whitening Accelerator needs a bit more room to ‘breathe’ inside the tube. Since you are using equal parts of both products there will be enough of both products. The Supersmile Whitening Toothpaste can also be used by itself without the accelerator component but the accelerator has to be used with the Supersmile Whitening Toothpaste.
