Why does the sun shine on th moon, but theres no light in space?
Space in not totally dark. At this distance from the Sun, space is as bright as broad daylight. Think about it. If the Earth gets it’s light from the Sun, how could it not be. Light travels in straight lines. In order to see light, you have to be looking directly at the source of light — in this case the Sun — or at something which is reflecting the light. The Sun is a sphere that radiates light in all directions. The Sun shines on everything that isn’t obscured by something else. On Earth, the atmosphere scatters sunlight, especially the blue wavelengths; this makes it appear as if the color blue is coming from every direction. This blue haze also drowns out the faint light of the stars. But at night, you’re on th
