Why does the South Brunswick Public Library charge for its movie rentals when some other area libraries do not?
Our library charges $1 for a one-week movie rental. Many of the shorter children’s movies are free. A small red mouse sticker on the spine of the movie box indicates that that movie is a free rental. The fee that we do charge enables our library to purchase new releases and keep our collection updated. The library handles a large volume of circulation materials that exceeds most area libraries. The fee helps us defray some of the cost of providing more materials in a variety of formats.
