Why does the security code reset after restoring factory settings on my Nokia device?
This is a feature of Nokia model phones which helps users in various ways. For example if a user has forgotten has forgot his/her security code, Doing a master reset would restore the phone with default factory settings. so does the security code also restores to default. This would avoid the user with unwanted hassles.

This is a feature. First time when you activate the security keyguard, you are asked to choose a code. This code will then be active. However, after restoring factory settings, the security code is set undefined. To set the code again, select Menu > Settings > Security > Access codes > Create security code.
